Gordon ‘SirClive’ Sinclair is the founder of MovieMuse. A child of the 70s with his heart in the eighties, his dream is to one day wake up like Alex Drake and relive that glorious decade.
A long time classic video gamer, Gordon founded Replay Events, a company dedicated to showcasing the best retro consoles and computers of the last 40 years.
With his unhealthy love of Stallone movies and an obsessive need to watch every film ever nominated for a major award, he is aways ready with an (un?)educated opinion.
Away from MovieMuse Gordon is an avid follower of Liverpool and Huddersfield Town football clubs and lives in Halifax with his Star Wars loving fiancée Nancy.
Gordon is responsible for the MovieMuse website and co-edits the MovieMuse podcast.

Gordon’s Reviews
Poster | Movie | Year | Comments | Rating |
---|---|---|---|---|
Swiss Army Man | 2016 | A mad, odd, weird and magically wonderful film that proves Daniel Radcliffe's rare quality and brave film choices. | 8 | |
Tango & Cash | 1989 | Over 25 years old and still holds up well with genuinely good humour and action. | 6 | |
Tank 432 | 2015 | A tense thriller set in the confines of an abandoned tank. A little too similar to Ben Wheatley’s films, be good all the same. | 6 | |
The Seventh Seal | 1957 | Mixes humour, philosophy and beautiful locations with its existential and religious ponderings to create a truly stunning film and one of the most memorable scenes in movie history. | 10 | |
The Accountant | 2016 | A schizophrenic movie that wants to be Bourne, Rain Man, A Beautiful Mind and a RomCom all at once. | 5 | |
ARQ | 2016 | Generic time looper that adds nothing of interest to the genre. | 5 | |
The Big Short | 2015 | The funniest 'factual' film you will ever see. "The truth is like poetry ... and most people fucking hate poetry". | 9 | |
The Bourne Legacy | 2012 | Whilst Damon's Bournes are personal and about how he deals with the system, this takes the opposite route and looks at the system and how the subjects fit into it. Unfairly marked down by comparison, it is a good film in its own right. | 7 | |
The Brand New Testament | 2015 | Odd and up-lifting. A delightful tale of living rather than existing. | 9 | |
The Danish Girl | 2015 | Click to see our detailed review. | 7 | |
The Double | 2014 | Textbook Ayoade in style and humour. Dark, intelligent and some great performances. | 8 | |
The Double | 2011 | Relatively forgettable until the final twist, but just about does enough. | 6 | |
The Firm | 1993 | An enjoyable legal thriller despite its unchallenging screenplay and bare bones acting. | 6 | |
The Fog | 1980 | The whole film is spelled out in the opening scene killing any excitement or intrigue. The excellent score deserved a better film. | 5 | |
The Nice Guys | 2016 | Great 70s styling, terrific performances and some brilliant dialogue and scenes. | 8 | |
The Greasy Strangler | 2016 | Totally absurd but also totally engrossing. Sick, silly and fun. | 8 | |
The Gunman | 2015 | Starts as your run of the mill black-ops for hire flick and gets progressively worse as the film drags on. | 4 | |
The Intern | 2015 | Too 'nice' for its own good. | 5 | |
The Jungle Book | 2016 | Click to see our detailed review. | 8 | |
The Lady in the Van | 2015 | Adopts an interesting style by using two Alan Bennetts and has some great performances. | 8 | |
The Legend of Barney Thompson | 2015 | Takes a long time to get going but ends up a great twsisted black comedy. Great performance from an unrecognisable Emma Thompson. | 7 | |
The Legend of Tarzan | 2016 | OK on almost all fronts but not better. Margo Robbie and the film's end were disappointing though. | 6 | |
10 Cloverfield Lane | 2016 | The shoe-horning of Cloverfield into what is a brilliant film in its own right is pretty shameless. But despite that it is still a must see. | 8 | |
The Lobster | 2015 | An interesting premise turned into an unlikable film due to some apparently deliberate bad acting. Somehow left me wanting to watch it again though?? | 6 | |
45 Years | 2015 | A tale of keeping a secret for a very long time. there is far less to the film than the premise suggests. Saved by fine performances by the leads. | 7 |
