Avengers: Infinity War 2018 A plotless collection of fight sequences that trivialise some of Marvel's best loved characters into a pretty dull sketch show. Gordon 4
Avengers: Infinity War 2018 The dizzying array of heroes get meaningful screen time and the humour is restrained compared to recent Marvel outings, but the real positive is Thanos, a great villain with depth and purpose, rather than the throwaway baddies of most superhero movies. Mat 8
Christopher Robin 2018 An absolutely delightful live action Winnie The Pooh movie. Everything works well despite nothing standing out. McGregor is a bit hammy, the effects don't always look quite right and the story will probably bore/confuse kids in places, but I loved it. Gordon 8
First Man 2018 A wonderful biopic that is clearly about the man and not the mission. Don't expect lots of glory shots of rockets or planets, just a man and his single minded ambition. Gordon 9
Ready Player One 2018 A rather childish interpretation of the nostalgia-soaked book appears to be aimed at people too young to get the references and comes off a little dumbed down. I'd have loved it 20 years ago however! Gordon 6
Ready Player One 2018 The story is even more simplistic than the book and the action sequences are mostly soulless, but despite that you can't help but smile at the onslaught of pop-culture references and thrilling world that Spielberg has brought to the screen. Mat 7
Solo: A Star Wars Story 2018 For a two and a quarter hour film I came away knowing nothing new about Han. Nor did I understood his motivation to become the galaxy’s greatest smuggler. Gordon 5
