PODCAST 24: Film Club #16 – The Fantastic Four

The MovieMuse crew like waffling on about movies almost as much as watching them, so rather than talk to the dog about the comedic overtones of Se7en or the Wellesian influence on Police Academy, we thought we would record our chats, add a few trailers and movie clips and set them free on the world like a pensioner from cocoon.

Film Club #16 – Roger Corman’s The Fantastic Four

The team discuss the ill-fated attempt to bring Marvel’s The Fantastic Four to life by renowned low budget producer Roger Corman. We also take a look at the 2016 documentary about the making of the film ‘Doomed! The untold story of Roger Corman’s The Fantastic Four‘.

You can watch the full film of The Fantastic Four right here on MovieMuse by scrolling to the bottom of this page.

Film Club Review - The Fantastic Four (1994)
  • Mat - "a typical low budget jobby"
  • Simon - "the affects and acting aren't great, but I enjoyed it"
  • Gordon - "with the context of its history, the film is more fun than you'd expect"

Another couple of million dollars and a more scrupulous producer could have made The Fantastic Four into a decent film, but what we got is still worth a watch for the history and spectacle if nothing else.
